If you have a job that is performed at regular intervals, then you’ll love our new recurring job feature! Posting a recurring job helps to save time on repeated tasks by allowing you to post ahead of the start date, without refilling the required information. Simply fill out the details of the job and select the “Recurring” button. You’ll be able to set daily, weekly, or monthly recurrences. This feature is useful when you have jobs that happen over and over again at regular intervals.&nbsp;

Assigning project roles to your leadership team gives them ownership as the Site Manager, Check-in Manager, and Check-out Manager. This feature helps your workers to know who they should be asking for throughout the work day.&nbsp;

<h2>The Numbers on Canadian Immigration</h2>
Most of us, even on an unconscious level have been aware that we’ve been relying on Canadian immigration to support our economy. As our country becomes more diverse in flavour and culture we’ve seen our workplaces grow equally as diverse. At the <a href="https://www150.statcan.gc.ca/n1/daily-quotidien/171025/dq171025b-eng.htm?indid=14428-1&amp;indgeo=0" rel="noopener" target="_blank">last census</a> in 2016, immigrants represented one-fifth (21.9%) of Canada’s total population and were estimated to rise to between 24.5 and 30% by 2036. &nbsp;

<a href="https://www150.statcan.gc.ca/n1/pub/71-607-x/71-607-x2018005-eng.htm" rel="noopener" target="_blank">Canada’s real-time model of our population</a> indicates that a new immigrant is added at the rate of one person every 1 minute and 16 seconds. When compared with the current birth rate, one every 1 minute and 25 seconds, we can see how Canada’s growth is going to be driven by immigration - not births. &nbsp;
&nbsp;
At &nbsp;<a href="http://www.grizzlyforce.ca/find-workers" rel="noopener" target="_blank">Grizzly Force</a>, we’re seeing this growth firsthand. With our 60,000+ labour force using our application to search for flexible or full-time work, a whopping 44% are new Canadian immigrants. They are mainly using Grizzly Force as their first opportunity for work in Canada.&nbsp;

One Grizzly Force user who immigrated recently to Canada from India struggled to find full-time work. When he was onboarded onto Grizzly Force, he worked over 40 jobs gaining a 5-star review from his employers. He was eventually hired full-time by an employer because of his work. &nbsp;

These numbers are in part, due to baby boomers heading for retirement, and - you guessed it, fewer babies being born. Despite having a lot of unexpected time on our hands, Canadian birth rates during the pandemic <a href="https://www150.statcan.gc.ca/n1/daily-quotidien/210928/dq210928d-eng.htm?CMP=mstatcan" rel="noopener" target="_blank">actually </a><a href="https://www150.statcan.gc.ca/n1/daily-quotidien/210928/dq210928d-eng.htm?CMP=mstatcan" rel="noopener" target="_blank">fell</a> to their lowest since 2006 (3.6% less than the previous year). The full effects of our declining births won’t be seen for decades to come. If there’s one thing we know, it’s that labour shortages in Canada are here to stay.&nbsp;

An <a href="https://thoughtleadership.rbc.com/squeeze-play-higher-wages-alone-wont-solve-canadas-labour-shortage-problem/" rel="noopener" target="_blank">analysis performed in 2021 by RBC </a>that same year, predicted that by 2024,&nbsp;
<ul style="font-size: 16px; line-height: 1.75;">
<li aria-level="1">23% of the working-age population is expected to be 65 and older</li>
<li aria-level="1">It’s going to be an employee’s market. Employers are going to have to increase wages and provide more benefits and flexibility to attract and retain employees.&nbsp;</li>
<li aria-level="1">Labour shortages are going to affect every industry.&nbsp;</li>

We’re already feeling the effects of this, as labour shortages were further exasperated by a seemingly endless pandemic period. <a href="https://www.bdc.ca/globalassets/digizuite/32075-study-labour-shortage.pdf?utm_campaign=Labour-Shortage-Study-2021--download--EN&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;utm_source=Eloqua" rel="noopener" target="_blank">BDC’s study</a> performed the same year interviewed 1251 Canadian entrepreneurs and found that a whopping 64% reported labour shortages that have limited the growth of their company. The top reason for the difficulty in filling roles was a lack of candidates. In a <a href="https://www.bdc.ca/en/about/analysis-research/labour-shortage-2018" rel="noopener" target="_blank">similar study performed in 2018</a>, 40% of Canadian entrepreneurs were already having the same problems. &nbsp;

The Canadian workforce has 2 sets of workers, one being an employee and the other a contractual worker. Both come with their own set of benefits and shortcomings. As an employee, you are entitled to the following benefits, which a contractor is refrained from:

<li aria-level="1">Employment Insurance Premium (EI) – This is deducted from the employee, as well from the employer's end. Employment Insurance backs you up on your rainy days and provides you with temporary financial assistance in case of job loss, sickness, or pregnancy.&nbsp; &nbsp;

<li aria-level="1">Canada Pension Plan (CPP) contributions – These deductions are remitted from the employee and employer sides. It is a government mandate for the employer to deduct the amount and contribute from their end. CPP is a retirement planning fund that an individual receives post their retirement. To claim this benefit, you must be at least 60 years old.&nbsp;</li>
<li aria-level="1">Income tax - Charged federally and provincially. For budget planning purposes it is simpler to have these amounts withdrawn during the course of the year versus getting a major bill from the CRA towards the year's end.</li>
</ul>
Now, as a contractor, there are no deductions like EI, CPP, and income tax. Contractors are responsible for tracking their overall yearly income and remitting taxes to the government, including income tax, GST and PST.
Of course, there is no limit to working hours as a contractor, but that is the same case if you are an employee with Grizzly force. You are free to choose your shift, hours, days, and companies you want to work for. Also, not to forget Grizzly force's favourite feature of getting paid within 24 hours.&nbsp;
